While not the highest in a five year period, the number of injuries and deaths from gun violence through the summer of 2022 is still…

While not the highest in a five year period, the number of injuries and deaths from gun violence through the summer of 2022 is still significant — and higher than the two summers before the pandemic. The Gun Violence Archive reports that from May 27 through September 6, 2022, there were 249 mass shootings, 6,102 deaths and 12,622 injuries by gun.
