“Our survey indicated that in the midst of the increased firearm purchasing during COVID, more firearms were being kept unsecured within homes with teenagers.” This is just one of the findings of a national study of firearm purchases during the pandemic in households with teens.
Of relevance to this is a news report today that indicates the county prosecutor handling the shooting at Oxford High School in Michigan earlier this week could also charge the parents for their son’s access to an unsecured gun.
“Owning a gun means securing it properly and locking it and keeping the ammunition separate,” the prosecutor said.
