An update was released earlier this week providing information on gun violence and the administration’s (and numerous federal agencies) efforts to help reduce this national public health epidemic. Specific issues addressed within this advisory include:

  • Keeping especially dangerous weapons off our streets
  • Keeping guns out of the wrong hands
  • Making additional progress to reduce community violence
  • Providing law enforcement with the tools and resources they need to reduce gun violence
  • Addressing the root causes of gun violence
  • Continuing to demand commonsense gun legislation and funding needed to address the gun violence epidemic
